Technical Operations Workshop


Requirements
Royal Life Saving Society NSW is not a CRICOS provider; it is unable to provide national training to overseas students holding a student visa.

Candidates must complete on-the-job tasks as part of their assessments, which are to be observed and documented by an Approved Workplace Supervisor. You are required to have access to a computer and the internet to access the online modules and submit your workbooks.

Prerequisites
While there are no prerequisites to enrol in this course, it is recommended that candidates have access to a venue and an Approved Workplace Supervisor to mentor them through their assessment workbooks; on-the-job assessments form a critical aspect of a candidate’s assessment evidence.

Course Description
The Aquatic Technical Operations course provides candidates with the knowledge and skills relevant to the supervision and operation of an aquatic facility‚ plant and associated equipment, and the monitoring and maintaining of water quality.

This course is delivered online with on-the-job assessment completions. The Online Assessment is a personal record of each candidate's skills and knowledge and is used to demonstrate competency in the workplace.

The Online Assessment consists of four theory modules with four associated assessment workbooks that are to be completed on-the-job with an Approved Workplace Supervisor providing assistance were required. The Assessment Workbooks are:
  • Identify Risk & Apply Risk Management Processes
  • Test Pool Water Quality
  • Develop & Implement Pool Water Maintenance Procedures
  • Aquatic Facility Maintenance

The Technical Operations course is the industry standard for pool supervisors as documented in the Department of Local Government Practice Note 15.

Course duration is 12 months from enrolment date. Continuation fee's apply for enrolments outside of the duration period. Your Online access will be issued to you within 48 hours of enrolment.

Outcomes
Upon successful course completion of the course participants will be issued with a Nationally Recognised Training certificate (Statement of Attainment). Units of Competency achievable through this course include:
  • BSBRSK401 Identify risk and apply risk management processes
  • SISCAQU001 Test pool water quality
  • SISCAQU003 Maintain aquatic facility plant and equipment
  • SISCAQU004 Develop and implement pool water maintenance procedures
  • SISCAQU005 Develop and implement aquatic facility maintenance procedures
